Description:
Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German Gotha Go P.60 flying wing fighter proposal never built.
The P.60N-1, designated “Nachtjäger” (Night Fighter), was tailored for nocturnal operations. It featured a lengthened nose to accommodate the FuG 240 radar system, essential for detecting enemy aircraft in low-visibility conditions. The crew configuration included a pilot and a radar operator seated in tandem. Armament plans comprised four MK 108 cannons in the wings and additional upward-firing cannons in a “Schräge Musik” arrangement, designed to attack enemy bombers from below. The P.60N-1’s design focused on enhancing the Luftwaffe’s night interception capabilities during the latter stages of the war.
Not a single Gotha Go P.60 was ever build, so material to build this kit is very limited. Seems AZ Model takes an early Gotha P-60C desing with conventional two seats cockpit in tandem to develop all the series of their Gotha P-60 kits, and updates engines positions and two types of noses as changes between variants. In this case they clearly make omission of the upward-firing cannons. AZ Model already had tooled the Gotha P-60 in the past, but here moulds has been updated and changed for this 2025 release.
Decal sheet include 3 markings, of course all of them are fictional markings.
