The Handley Page Victor is a British four-engine jet strategic bomber, later a medium-wing air tanker from the V-bomber series. The propulsion was provided by four Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire ASSa.7 engines. The flight of the prototype took place in December 1952, and the production lasted in the years 1956-1963 and resulted in the production of 86 examples. The first aircraft in the RAF entered service in 1957. In total, three versions of the bomber were created: B.1, B.1A and B.2, and from May 1965 some of the B.1 aircraft were converted into air tankers. In the bomb versions, the main weapons were the Yellow Sun hydrogen bomb, the Blue Steel air-to-ground missile or 35 conventional bombs, 454 kg each. Technical data (version B.1): length: 35.05m, wingspan: 33.53m, height: 8.57m, maximum speed: 1010km / h, practical ceiling: 17000m, maximum range: 9660km.
