Description:
Nakajima J1N1-S “GEKKO” Early
Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Japanese WWII Nakajima J1N fighter aircraft. J1N1 was a twin engined Imperial Navy aircraft used for reconnaissance, long range fighter, night fighter or kamikaze missions. Introduced in 1942, few less of 500 units were produced. J1N1-S was a night fighter variant, armed with 4 forward 20mm guns (type 99 guns), two up firing and two down/under firing. Later models suppressed the under fire guns adding a third up forward gun. other variants without nose antennae or searchlight also added a nose 20mm gun.
Kit shows the two pairs up and under guns configuration.
Hobby 2000 repacks Fujimi kit for the same topic with new decal sheet, including 2 markings for 1943 period.
